40° CONGRESSO NAZIONALE SIMG - SOCIETA' ITALIANA DI MEDICINA GENERALE

From 23 to 25 November 2023, the 40th edition of the congress of the Italian Society of General Medicine will take place in Florence, at the Fortezza da Basso.
The training sessions will take place starting from Saturday 18 November in live streaming, and then continue in hybrid mode, remotely and in person on 23-24-25 November 2023. From 20 November 2023, we will make some sessions available in asynchronous mode which can be accessed until 31 March 2024. The themes will refer almost entirely to what the SIMG develops within the 4 macro areas: prevention, non-deferrable disorders, chronicity and fragility. The clinical aspects, the scientific evidence, the regulatory aspects, the relational component, the management aspects will be explored in depth also in light of the different organizational models differently present in the different territorial realities implemented in General Medicine. In the conference sessions, an interactive structure will be maintained and further encouraged compared to previous years in order to encourage everyone's interest and participation. For this reason, instead of frontal sessions there will be debates, talk shows, round tables, questions to the expert, also using active involvement techniques such as televoting or, for remote sessions, questions asked by the participants via chat, with the presence of a web-moderator with the function of facilitating the question-answer flow.
“SIMG MEETS & SIMG DISCUSES ABOUT…”
In a dedicated room, the formula of "SIMG Incontra & SIMG Discuss di..." will be repeated, which has had widespread success in the past two years. These are short debates between SIMG managers or members and representatives of scientific societies, citizens' associations, industry, the political-institutional world, on highly topical topics of particular relevance and interest for our profession. They represent moments of discussion and openness of our scientific society and our profession in a relational key and of constructive exchange of opinions with future projections towards different forms of collaboration.
SIMGLab VILLAGE
A substantial part of the 2023 Congress will be the SIMG-Lab Village which will give the opportunity to acquire or perfect various medical skills necessary for good clinical practice, thanks to its short learning modules and the availability of professional simulation environments which, also thanks to expert tutors and the support of highly technological "simulators" will give the participants, divided into small groups, the opportunity to practice and put into practice the procedures acquired. Joint infiltration techniques, ultrasound, electrocardiography, vascular diagnostics, anorectal diagnostics, breast palpation, spirometry, dermatological diagnostics, suturing and catheterization techniques, andrological diagnostics, approach to patients with pain, are just some of the opportunities offered in this Congress section of practical medicine. The research and application of diagnostic scores in various branches of medicine will complete the training proposal.
