Florence, 7th September 2023 –Giovanni Fittante, President of Villa Vittoria Cultura, Lorenzo Becattini, President of Firenze Fiera, and Cosimo Ceccuti, President of Fondazione Spadolini, will receive the Award “Premio Ponte Vecchio”, – established in 2016 by the association Toscana Cultura in Florence – within the scope of the events organised to promote the image of Tuscany. The Award will be presented on Friday, 8th September, at 18.00, inside the premises of Villa Vittoria Cultura. This project was created and directed by Giovanni Fittante in partnership with Firenze Fiera and Fondazione Spadolini Nuova Antologia, and offered 30 free events from June to September 2023, that saw the participation of about 90 authors, speakers, and personalities from the world of culture, along with around 5,000 attendees throughout the season. To thank them for the great work carried out in these last years, for putting Florence and Tuscany in the global spotlight through famous authors, and for dealing with cultural and social themes with exceptional guests, Fittante, Becattini and Ceccuti will receive the Award “Premio Ponte Vecchio”. The ceremony will see the participation of Councillor Sara Funaro for the Florence Municipality, and will be moderated by journalist Fabrizio Borghini.

“I would like to thank my friend Fabrizio Borghini – said Cosimo Ceccuti – for this award that goes, in particular, to Giovanni Fittante, tireless founder and promoter of the “Villa Vittoria Cultura” project. He allowed an increasing number of audiences to discover contemporary authors, making them participate in open debates on relevant current themes and problems. Following the spirit that has been inspiring “Nuova Antologia” – a magazine born when Florence was the Capital of Italy and still today published in our city – for 158 years – Fondazione Spadolini supports this project that has preserved its high quality while contributing to a wider disclosure of themes”.

“I am honoured to receive this prestigious award – said Lorenzo Becattini, President of Firenze Fiera. It is an important recognition that shows that our spaces are not only an ideal place to host congresses and exhibitions, but also the perfect venues to explore current cultural and social themes, with special guests, at the very heart of the city. Collaborating with Fondazione Spadolini Nuova Antologia and Villa Vittoria Cultura, fo the second consecutive year Firenze Fiera was an active partner of this project, strongly believing in the preparatory value of culture, and able to activate innovative processes and practices, promoting participation and social cohesion”.

“It is an honour for me to receive this important award – stated Giovanni Fittante – acknowledging the work carried out at Villa Vittoria Cultura. Even this year, this
