After four editions of an international architecture
competition and the success of last year’s
edition, the Reuse Italy project is scheduling
the second edition of a Summer Architecture
Workshop in Florence, from July 22nd to July
31st, 2022.
This educational experience will offer a complete
framework of knowledge about the issues
inherent to architectural heritage restoration.
Thanks to the lectures, given by international
architects and professors, participants will be
able to deepen themes such as the principles of
restoration, the relationship between ruin and
new building, the inclusion of new functions
within a historical architecture, the traditional
building methods, the historical and critical
analysis. The workshop, on the other hand, will
be the occasion to practice on a reuse project
and to prove that the reuse of the architectural
heritage is possible.
The workshop, open to students and young
architects, asks the participants to reuse and
transform the castle of Montemassi (Roccastada,
Grosseto) and the projects will be displayed
on a public final exhibition.
Early registration starts on March 14th, whereas
regular registration starts on April 29th.
The enrolment deadline is May 31st.
The international teaching staff is composed
of: Max Dudler, Meritxell Inaraja, Fala Atelier,
Carles Enrich, Edoardo Milesi, Prof. Maurizio
De Vita (University of Florence), Prof. Alessandro
Merlo (University of Florence).
